Åsmund Aamodt Resell received his master’s degree in mechanical engineering from NTNU in Trondheim. His specialization is in structural mechanics and fluid dynamics, with a strong focus on numerical modeling and computational analysis.
The objective of his thesis is to improve our understanding of fluid dynamics and particle transport within the annular space outside the drill string and to strengthen our knowledge of the coupling between drill string vibrations and fluid flow. The project will explore complex flow phenomena and the effects they may have on real-time models using computational fluid dynamics, finite element analysis, and reduced models.
